A Look Back at This Summer’s Workshops: A Journey Through Color and Restoration

Summer is coming to a close, and with it, the training workshops that brought my studio to life. This year, I had the pleasure of guiding passionate people from all walks of life through two distinct experiences: the art of color and the magic of furniture restoration. It was a time rich in shared moments and wonderful discoveries.

The Many Faces of Color

The two-day Color workshops immersed participants in the heart of color practice, an essential pillar of painting. The program covered the color wheel, of course, as well as color harmonies (complementary, analogous, etc.), the concepts of contrast and value, and, most importantly, a multitude of practical exercises, such as finding original harmonies and color matching. What struck me most was the trainees’ enthusiasm for mastering color—understanding its secrets to use it with both accuracy and creativity. Palettes became brighter, mixes more refined, and everyone left with a better command of this powerful tool.

An Introduction to Furniture Restoration

The second type of workshop, a full-week session, was dedicated to restoring vintage furniture. The objective was clear: to teach the fundamentals of being a furniture painter, from the right tools to the precise techniques needed to breathe new life into forgotten pieces. Stripping, sanding, preparing the wood, painting… every step was approached with care. It was fascinating to watch the furniture transform in the hands of the trainees. This work demands patience and delicacy, and I’m proud of the passion and commitment they showed.

Connections and Shared Moments

Beyond the technical learning, these workshops were an opportunity for valuable and joyful exchanges. A huge thank you to everyone for your trust and enthusiasm. The adventure continues with new dates for three-day Color immersion sessions:

October 16–18, 2025 November 20–22, 2025

The cost is 395€ for 24 hours of workshop time in a group of 3 people maximum. Materials are included.
